I found this blog written by Al GuerreroHe writes about his youth experiences which include his participation in the Chicano Power demonstrations. He is also an artist/humorist
He works as a freelance artist and writer
He likes collecting vintage toys and comic books, cinema history, and Los Angeles history
I liked his post because he narrates his own personal story adding more dramatization to the event itself. He gives a vivid interpretation of the event and does not fail to incorporate his own views
The post relates to the chapter because I felt that the student protest/strike was filled with the same energy as Al Guerrero described in his narrative. The students in chapter 3 were not afraid to yell "VIVA LA RAZA!" or "Chicano Power" and were most definitely not afraid to stand up to the police. The post describes a similar situation filled with chaos and confusion but also with a sense of serenity. Despite the fact that in both situations the protestors faced imprisonment that did not stop them from being heard and expressing their opinions.
