Chapter 15

I got this picture from a blog called view from a loft.

This picture is from the scene of the killing of the KMEX reporter at The Silver Dollar on Whittier Blvd. during the Chicano Moratorium. The blogger writes about Ruben Salazar the reporter (or in the book Roland Zanzibar) who was killed by the tear gas canister shot by the deputy sheriff. In the memory of Salazar, the US Postal Service is issuing special stamps honoring the slain reporter. I liked the post because it brings important history to the attention of the younger generations and honoring an accomplishement by a person who isn't necessarily a household name.  The picture coincides with chapter 15 and the events of the Chicano Moratorium.
